Privacy

The application

CySecTek has no account, no licence check, no analytics library and no usage reporting. It does not collect, transmit or store anything about you or how you use it.

Everything it produces stays on your machine: scan results, session transcripts, saved connections, pinned host keys and exports. None of it is uploaded anywhere.

The three outbound requests it makes

All three are tied to something visible you are doing, and all three can be avoided by not using that feature:

• Version check — to cysectek.com, to see whether a newer release exists. This sends nothing but the request itself.
• Public IP lookup — to api.ipify.org, to show your public address on the overview screen. That service sees the request, as it must in order to answer it.
• Connectivity tests — to Google’s and Microsoft’s connectivity endpoints, and only when you press the button on the diagnostics screen. Testing whether the internet is reachable means reaching something on the internet.

Beyond those, the application talks only to the equipment you point it at: the hosts you scan, the devices you SSH into, the servers you transfer files to.

What is stored on your machine

• Saved connections — host, port, username, group, and the password if you asked for it to be saved. Passwords and key passphrases are encrypted with a key derived from your app password. See credential protection.
• Private keys — not stored. Only the path to the file you chose.
• Pinned SSH host keys — so a changed key can be refused.
• Session transcripts — only if you turn session logging on, which is off by default. Encrypted when written.

All of it lives in your Windows user profile. Uninstalling the application does not delete it; delete that folder if you want the machine clean.

This website

cysectek.com uses Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure loading performance. These record aggregate page-level data and do not set advertising cookies or build a profile of you across sites.

Downloads are served directly from this domain. There is no download tracker, no email gate and no form in front of the installer.

If you email us, we have your email and whatever you wrote in it, for as long as it takes to deal with your question. That correspondence is not added to any list and you will not receive marketing as a result of it.

Third parties

The site is hosted by Vercel, who process requests to serve it. The application’s public-IP lookup uses ipify. Superseded installers are mirrored on GitHub. No other third party is involved in either the site or the application.

Children

This is a tool for network professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top changes with it. Given that the current answer is “nothing”, any change would be a reduction in privacy and would be called out on the release notes as well.
